Bullying impacts a student's life. Bully "chats and guidance" keep previously bullied students informed, encouraged, and in positive recovery.
Essay Contest Rules and Guidelines For 2026
Clemtec Incorporated Hampton Roads Essay Contest is an annual civic education contest for eligible high school students in Virginia. The challenge of the contest is to get students to think about school and community,address a problem, and propose a workable solution
Contest Details
1. The contest is open to all Hampton Roads students enrolled in grades 9-12 who reside in Virginia or are enrolled in a school in Hampton Roads
2. Students must write a 700-900 word essay that addresses a problem in their school or community. Students must select from one of the Clemtec topics presented for 2026.(five suggested and required topics, pick only one)
3.Essay should propose the best solution for the issue, and explain why they disagree with the present state of affairs , and why their solution is better
4. All entries must be submitted by USPS mail, and post marked by Friday January 30, 2026.
5. Essay must be between 700-900 words (AI essays NOT allowed)
6.Essay must be typed, double-spaced, legible hand written essays may be accepted, but are not recommended.
7. Only one essay is permitted per student with the completed essay cover sheet.
8. All entries are judged on content,grammar, originality,spelling, and understanding of the topic and issue. (Reminder: essays generally start with order and end with consistency, and the aim is always clarity.)
9.All Artificial Intelligence generated or AI assisted essays will disqualify the participant.
The winning essay may be published in the New Journal and Guide
** Contest note. $1,000 is guaranteed to the Grand Prize Winner. However, if the grand prize winner essay is considered by the judges to be exceptional in 1. original thought 2.analysis of the problem and 3.present a problem solving solution that the school or community should consider and implement immediately,the grand prize winner's prize will double to $2,000.
